Thank you for applying to the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) and Children's Leadership Training Institute (CLTI)! These courses will be offered online via Zoom. Students must have a device and access to the internet.
The PLTI & CLTI are FREE civics and engagement courses that teach parents, community members and children to become school and community leaders.
The courses are offered in the spring and fall of every year.
The next session will begin on Saturday, September 26th and end on Saturday, December 12th. Classes are held twice a week: Tuesdays from 6PM to 8:30PM and Saturdays from 9AM to Noon online.
The PLTI is a project-based class, each student develops a community project during the course that benefits their schools, neighborhoods or communities.
Before accepted for the PLTI, adult students must attend an introduction class to learn more about the Institute and what the expectations are.
If you join the PLTI, and have children, they are eligible to participate at the same time in the free Children's Leadership Training Institute (CLTI) for ages 5-12. These classes will be held separately on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 - 5:30PM.
